At the crossroads of poetry and music, the melody and lied genre is one of the richest and most intimate, but also one of the most demanding, requiring a very special alchemy between singer and pianist.
The new Campus mélodie-lied gives prizewinners the opportunity to spend 3 weeks working on linguistic, literary and musical projects, and to discover this extremely vast repertoire.
For this first three-week edition, each week will feature a different master duo, chosen from among the greatest recitalists on the international scene: Barbara Hannigan and Bertrand Chamayou, Stéphane Degout and Simon Lepper, Bernarda Fink and Susan Manoff.

Opera Makers International Women's Day Recital
The UK Premiere of La Montagne Noire by Augusta Holmès
On the 8th of March 2026 (International Women's Day) we will be presenting a concert performance of Augusta Holmès' only surviving opera, La Montagne Noire, in its UK premiere.
Composed in 1885, La Montagne Noire is a late-Romantic opera on a grand scale, replete with soaring melodies and moments of outstanding beauty. It is remarkable for being one of very few operas written by a woman to be produced at the Paris Opera during the 19th century. Despite the work's abundant merits, it received a lukewarm reception - likely due to the scant recognition afforded female composers at the time - and was never revived in France since its premiere in 1895.
